Every once in a while I get to step outside of the city and photograph a wedding in a quiet town. Lucky for me Meghann and Victor got married in Aquebogue, NY. I was very excited when I accepted this wedding because I love the simplicity of everything once you leave the city. If you have never been to Aqueboque it is a small town filled with vineyards. Before we left for their beautiful location at The Vineyard Caterers, we used their own house for their first look. I always feel honored when a couple lets me partake in such a private moment. I try to fully capture every emotion they went through in that moment. Couples ask me all the time if they should do a first look. After looking at these photographs you will see why I will always recommend it.

The Essex and Sussex: Erin + Jeremy
I have done countless weddings in the Spring Lake area but this one was extra special. I was fortunate enough to photograph Erin and Jeremy's wedding at The Essex and Sussex. Thanks to Erin's grandparents, who live on the property, they were able to use the venue to host their wedding. The ceremony was held on her grandparents' deck which overlooked the ocean. Throughout the Essex and Sussex are various rooms filled with paintings and antique games. Erin and Jeremy really wanted to walk around and let the rooms dictate the images. They gave me full range in terms of room selection and I gave them free range in posing. Since the weather cooperated we were able to take advantage of the boardwalk and use the beach as a beautiful backdrop. Before the pictures Erin and her friends fell in love with an antique bicycle and wanted a way to incorporate it into a few of the pictures. The photographs with the bike turned out to be my favorites of the entire day.
If you can't guess, her color scheme was centered around purple. It was a simple pop of color: from the bridesmaid dresses, to the sunglasses they used for props and the candy bar provided to the guest at the reception. Besides the candy bar the guests were treated to a performance from the groom and his band. They sang a song dedicated to Erin. I enjoyed spending the day at the Essex and Sussex and I am happy that I actually got to photograph there because it is not a venue that everyone is privy too. Congratulations guys!
